You will find Glebe Cottage in the middle of the small Cornish village of St Ewe. The cottage was built in 2009 using a mix of traditional and modern materials to ensure the building fits with the village, whilst benefiting from modern technology.
A double height living area with large glass windows makes the most of spectacular views over farmland, whilst under floor heating, a wood burning stove and solar panels keep things warm and comfortable inside.
Cornwall’s south coast is within easy reach of the cottage. Safe beaches can be found three miles down the road and the picturesque villages of the Roseland Peninsula are waiting to be discovered.
Glebe Cottage makes a good base for discovering Cornwall’s beautiful gardens: Heligan, Caerhayes, Trellisick and Trewithan are within easy reach and the world famous Eden Project is a 15 minute drive away.
St Ewe is the village most associated with The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Here you will find the war memorial recording the names of the Heligan gardeners who lost their lives in the First World War. The village boasts a mediaeval church with an interesting graveyard, a sixteenth century pub and is a short distance from the fishing village of Mevagissey. Whilst things can get busy in some parts of Cornwall, this is a quiet, peaceful and stylish retreat from the world.
